Step on board the Norwegian Bliss and you might be forgiven for thinking that you’d made a wrong turn and entered a theme park.

But no, it’s actually a ship and is packed with some fairly extreme features, such as a two-level Go-Kart track where guests can reach speeds of 30mph and multi-level water slides. Plus a laser tag attraction.
Norwegian Bliss was delivered to Norwegian Cruise Line last week and left Southampton on Saturday for its maiden voyage to New York.

The outlandish track will be the largest competitive race track at sea and a first for any North America-based cruise ship.

The two-level electric car race track sits at the top of deck 19 on the 20-deck vessel and will offer amazing views as guests seek the fastest time.

The ship’s water park boasts two multi-story water slides, with one extending over the edge of the ship and looping down to the deck below.

Norwegian Bliss is the largest ever ship built for Norwegian Cruise Line – although it is still smaller than the world’s largest liner, Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas.

‘The Meyer Werft team, along with our operations teams, ship officers and crew members, has done an incredible job bringing Norwegian Bliss to life and we cannot wait for guests to experience all she has to offer.’
Norwegian Bliss is due to arrive in New York on May 3 for an inaugural US-tour stopping off in Miami and Los Angeles.

A grand christening ceremony will take place in her home port of Seattle on May 30 before she calls into Victoria in British Columbia before embarking on her first seven-day voyage to Alaska.

From June, Norwegian Bliss will spend her summer cruising seven-day voyages to Alaska, and the autumn season cruising to the Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles.

In the winter of 2018, she will sail the Caribbean from Miami, and in the 2019 autumn/winter season she will cruise from New York City to Florida, the Bahamas and Caribbean.
