Many women say they look back at photos of their teens and twenties and wonder why they spent so much time beating themselves up about what, in hindsight, was a great figure.
However, getting older certainly doesn’t have to many becoming less confident in your body – in fact, the opposite is true.
A new study has revealed that women’s body confidence peaks in their 60s, with those aged 65-74 saying they felt the most confident in swimwear.
Women of this age group mostly felt that there were more important things to concern themselves with than the ‘dream bikini body’, reports The Independent.
The survey, carried out by fashion brand M&Co, did have some disappointing news though – it turns out across the generations, women rated their body confidence at ‘five out of 10’ on average, proving we still carry a lot of unease regarding our appearance.
In fact, previous studies have shown British women are among the most unhappy with their bodies in the world, with a Dove survey showing that only 20 per cent said they liked the way they looked.
