1. Wake up early and face the right direction.

The best time to practice brain yoga is in the morning, so get up early. Make sure you face the east, exactly where the sun rises. Elderly people should face the north. In order to be sure, get a compass or download a compass application on your smartphone.

2. Remove any jewelry.

Make sure you take off all your jewelry, including wedding rings. Now press your tongue against the roof of your mouth, just behind your teeth. Leave it there throughout the whole exercise session.

3. Stand up straight.

The posture is very important in yoga. Stand up straight with your hands to your side, stabilize your feet. Hold your back straight throughout the whole session.

4. Get the correct hand position.

Lift your left hand, cross your upper body, and place it on the right earlobe. Make sure the thumb is in the front of the ear.

Now lift your right hand, cross your upper body, and grab your left earlobe. Also, make sure your right thumb is in the front of the ear.

You must press both earlobes simultaneously.

5. Start doing squats.

Inhale through your nose and slowly squat down. In order to avoid extra pressure on you knees, make sure your knees don’t pass over the ankles.

Make your way back to standing as you exhale.

Repeat the exercise for about 2-3 minutes. Remember to hold your back straight and your tongue pressed against the roof of your mouth.

6. Repeat the exercise daily.
