A mum claims her daughter opened an Amazon package that should have contained a Star Wars doll – and discovered a sex toy instead.

Julieann Henderson said her “clearly upset” 12-year-old came to her with the unwelcome item saying: “I don’t think we ordered this.”

The mum, believed to be from the Glenrothes area in Fife, had ordered a Star Wars Funko Pop toy, worth £9.95, for her daughter.

She complained on Amazon’s Facebook page with a picture of what her daughter actually received – a “Loveryoyo Jelly Dildo” in a box displaying a graphic image.

Julieann wrote: “So angry right now. Ordered a Star Wars Funko Pop for my 12-year-old daughter which arrived today.

“Left it for her to open only for her to come downstairs clearly upset saying, ‘I don’t think we ordered this mum’.

“Called customer service for them to tell me not to send it back and they will refund my £9.95 and to buy something else with it.”

She continued: “Asked to speak to a supervisor and put on hold for I don’t know how long only to be told they were busy.

“Wtf? Asked for a call back and still waiting four hours later.

“Shame on you Amazon. This needs to be dealt with. Not swept under the carpet like you are clearly trying to do.”

An Amazon spokeswoman said: “We have apologised to the customer and are investigating.”

Julieann’s post has received more than 12,000 comments, including one from Sarah Parsons, who wrote: “Omg that’s terrible. If my daughter had opened that I would have gone mad. This is so bad I hope you get this sorted.”

Others posted “jokes” about the apparent mix-up, including Gemma Burton, who wrote: “Brucy bonus I say. Got your money back to buy what you wanted and get a little treat for yourself. Winner winner.”

Such comments prompted Natasha Kingston to rail: “Why are people finding this so funny? A 12 year old old girl opened this and not a grown up. I’d be mad as hell if it’s been my daughter who saw it.”

And Lesley Deakin said: “It’s alright having a chuckle at this but if it were my daughter that opened something like that I’d be livid too.”
