You might want to go out and invest in some moisturiser right now, because a tech expert has revealed that your dry skin may be slowing your laptop down…

Yep, according to a member of US electronics retailer Best Buy’s ‘Geek Squad’, who deals with customers’ tech issues, the number one thing that may be causing your laptop to become slow and sluggish is an accumulation of dust and other debris.

And, as everyone know, dust is mainly made up of dead skin cells. So, yep, your laptop is probably getting clogged up with all your old skin. Gross, we know.

Speaking to Florida news channel WFTS, tech expert Adam Silke said that dust is one of the major causes of sluggish laptops.

‘A lot of dust, food and other junk builds up in your computer and especially your fans inside your computer,’ he said. ‘Those are what keeps your computer cool and keeps it speedy.’

If you’re now feeling pretty disgusted by the likely state of your keyboard, Silkey recommends investing in a can of compressed air to clean it, and doing so at least every six months.

So, we’re going to take two things away from this: 1) start moisturising our dry and flakey bodies a lot more and 2) wipe that keyboard way more often…
