If you’re not the biggest fan of exercise, this should change your mind.

Some women apparently get a lot of enjoyment out of exercise — they experience orgasms in the gym.

Aptly called the “coregasm,” it refers to orgasmic release induced by exercise.

Sounds too good to be true, right?

But exercise-induced orgasms have been recognized in scientific literature for more than 50 years.

They were first noted by sexologist Alfred Kinsey in his 1953 book Sexual Behavior in the Human Female, which detailed how 5 percent of women he spoke to had experienced one before.

Other studies have also backed this up.

A 2012 study of 530 women online found that 246 had experienced a “coregasm” before.

The Indiana University study also found that they were more likely if a woman was cycling, rope climbing, doing yoga, weight lifting or running.

But the most common exercise that led to a toe-curling moment was leg pull-ups.

So how exactly does a “coregasm” occur?

Basically, a combination of engaging the muscles connected to down there and the endorphins released when exercising has some euphoric results.

An orgasm occurs when the body cannot take the intense sexual pleasure of blood flow in the genitals anymore, according to sex expert Tracey Cox.

In a woman, the release of sexual tension is accompanied by contractions of the muscles in the vagina.

And, if she’s lucky, a woman can experience more than one orgasm if sexual stimulation continues after the first.

Although that is more likely to occur in the bedroom rather than in the gym.

It isn’t just exercise that can take a woman to heady heights, though.

Cox previously told The Sun Online: “Ten percent of women report achieving orgasm during exercise, some women can orgasm purely through nipple stimulation and (rare but true) some people orgasm when they have sneezing fits.”

And if all this isn’t enough to have you racing to the gym, some “coregasms” can last for a long time with women reportedly feeling contractions for hours after they’ve happened.
