Jessica Alba, who just gave birth to her third child one month ago, is technically still on maternity leave from The Honest Company (which she founded in 2011). But when you’re the founder of a billion-dollar business, sometimes you have to come in for an unexpected board meeting. And breastfeed while you’re at it.
The actress and beauty mogul shared a picture on Instagram of her breastfeeding her son Hayes from the office and followed it up with an explainer post. “Went into my @honest office today for a board meeting, although I’m still technically on mat leave,” she wrote. “Not gonna lie, it’s impossible for me to completely unplug from work …and it felt nice being back -even though it was just a half day. Baby boy came to visit/eat at lunch. Felt very productive today.”
Alba follows in the footsteps of other celeb moms, like Pink, Amanda Seyfried, and Olivia Wilde, and non-celeb moms alike who are trying to de-stigmatize the act of breastfeeding and have spoken out against shaming women who choose to breastfeed in public. Seyfried summed it up best when she said, “Breastfeeding is awesome. Formula is awesome. Feeding your baby is awesome. Not awesome? Judgement.” Preach.
Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, welcomed their first son together on December 31, 2017. She posted a picture of the newborn on Instagram, saying,”Best gift to ring in the New Year!! Cash and I feel so blessed. Haven and Honor are already obsessed with their new baby bro. 👶🏽💙 #familyof5.” Since then, she’s shared lots of adorable photos of the entire family, including older sisters Honor, 9, and Haven, 6.
