The ‘SuperShe Island’ aims to inspire women from around the world to develop their self-esteem and focus on their development without being distracted by men.
Guests will be able to visit the resort in June, but those who are interested must apply months in advance for an exclusive membership.
Promo videos show the idyllic Nordic setting, which is the second ‘SuperShe Island’ to open after a retreat opened in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The project was created by business woman Kristina Roth who has set up several other ‘wellness centres’ in paradise settings, such as Hawaii.
She suggested men change the environment of the resorts, which is why they open almost exclusively to women.
Ms Roth said: “When there was a cute guy, women would put on their lipstick.”
But the entrepreneur has not ruled out allowing men onto the island in the future.
She said friends and guests of either sex could be welcomed if “they’re well-rounded and would fit in.
Ms Roth added: “But I don’t want to be elitists.”
