With winter almost drawing to a close, many of us will be dreaming of getting ready for the summer.

We all want to look and feel our best, but if you’re one of the almost 90% of women battling with cellulite, it may make you feel self-conscious.

The dimples are created when pockets of excess fat are stored just below the skin.

If you’re fretting about the lumps and bumps, you’ll be pleased to know that there are non-surgical ways to get rid of cellulite.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star Online, Nutritionist Sarah Flower revealed her top four tips:

1. Massage It Away

Giving your cellulite-prone areas some attention can be all it takes to it.

This method encourages the blood to flow to the area, encouraging the fat deposits to move on.

Sarah said: “Dry brushing is a technique that has been around for centuries and involves brushing dry skin with a soft brush.

“Try brushing in circular motions towards the heart to help stimulate circulation as well as to support the lymphatic system with lymphatic drainage.”

2. Take health supplements

Detoxing the body can help to reduce the appearance of dimpling.

Sarah recommends: “Supplements can help improve the appearance of cellulite by either increasing circulation, improving the removal of toxins or the breaking down fat cells.

“In particular, Ginkgo Biloba is a powerful herb, widely used to help boost circulation, particularly to the smaller capillaries.

“This can help stimulate good blood supply to the tissues affected by cellulite, aiding the breakdown of the fatty tissue.”

If you’re reluctant to take supplements, flush out the fat by drinking plenty of water.

3. Balance your hormones

Ever notice that the lumps are more prominent at different times of the month?

Hormonal changes, including being on your period or taking the contraceptive pill, can cause bumping.

The nutritionist explained: “Low oestrogen results in poor circulation and a decrease in the production of collagen, making the appearance of cellulite far worse.

“Evening Primrose Oil can help balance the oestrogen and contains powerful GLA to aid circulation.”

4. Eat well

Switching up your diet can reduce the affects of cellulite.

Cutting out toxins, including caffeine and booze, helps to prevent toxins from building up.

Not only will this leave your insides feeling great, it’ll also make your skin look less dull and dimpled.

Sarah advised: “Opt for a balanced diet, incorporating plenty of fruit and vegetables.

“Not only will this keep you trim, but will also increase your water consumption and keep your body hydrated.

“Another way you can blast cellulite is by cutting down on carbohydrates, particularly refined carbohydrates and sugars which will help balance insulin and reduce inflammation.”
