Getting sunburnt increases your risk of skin cancer – and it’s all too easy to forget to top up your lotion.

Thankfully, experts have found a way to prevent your body becoming damaged by the powerful rays.

A sticker which can be placed onto your hands like nail art, could provide the perfect solution to all of your sunburn woes.

L’Oreal have developed the innovative technology, known as UV Sense.

The small circle contains a sensor that tracks users’ UVA and UBN exposure levels.

They are discreet, measuring just 9mm in diameter and can be worn for up to two weeks.

Apparently, placing it on the nail gives the most accurate readings.

Cleverly, the disk detects if you’ve spent too much time in the sun, warning you when you’re in danger.

You can then take steps to apply more lotion, or even decide to spend some time indoors.

UV Sense is battery-free and begins working when you come into contact with UV light.

It is also connected to users’ phones, allowing you to easily keep track of the data on the go.

As the patches last for two weeks, they’re bound to be a popular choice for Brits who are going away on hot holidays.

The potentially life-saving product is expected to be launched worldwide in 2019.

There is yet to be news on how much the device will cost.

Guive Balooch, Global Vice President of L’Oréal’s Technology Incubator, explained: “We set out to create something that blends problem-solving technology with human-centered design to reach even more consumers who require additional information about their UV exposure.”
