Whether you’re nursing a sore head after one too many G&Ts or just enjoying a weekend treat, nothing quite beats a classic bacon sandwich.
And it’s also safe to say that most us have a pretty fixed view of what exactly constitutes the perfect bacon butty.
So, some of you may be shocked to hear the results of a new survey by Holiday Inn Express, which quizzed 2,000 Brits to find the ultimate bacon sandwich recipe.
The result? Apparently, you should use buttered white bread (never toasted!) with a thin layer of ketchup.

Anyway, if you fancy getting your hands on this so-called ‘perfect’ bacon sandwich then you could be in luck because Holiday Inn Express will be handing out hundreds for free on the streets of London next Monday (15 January).
Dubbed ‘Blue Monday’, the 15th January is said to be the most depressing day of the year, so we could definitely use a few carbs to lift our spirits!
Mike Greenup, Holiday Inn Express spokesperson, said: ”It’s clear to see that bacon is a favourite breakfast choice – there is nothing better than waking up to the smell of bacon cooking away!’
