Half of women fantasize about having sex with another man while they make love to their current partner, a new study reveals.

In fact, more women have forbidden fantasies than men, with 46% of females admitting they think about other people compared with 42% of lads.

The vast majority of ladies fantasise about a close friend or colleague at work – and many end up doing the deed with the object of their desire.

Just under a third of women (30%) and 25% of men have had sex with a pal they have previously fantasised about.

And 26% of ladies and 22% of men have also had sex with a work colleague they have lusted after.

The results were revealed in a new survey of 1,300 people by the sex toy brand Lovehoney.

It also found that one in five women have fantasised about having sex with their boss.

A whopping 70% participants said they think about what sex would be like with a new partner before they go to bed.

While six out of ten men and women say they think about their ex while they have sex with their current lover.

All this fantasising about past loves is seen as harmless fun by 60% of women and 66% of men whereas more than third of both sexes reckon it counts as cheating.

A Lovehoney spokesperson said: “Lots of people do reminisce fondly about former lovers – it is a perfectly harmless thing to do as long as you are not intent on living out that fantasy if you are with someone else.

“All Lovehoney research shows that sexual fantasies enhance couples’ sexual happiness and are a good thing. Sexual experimentation is to be encouraged because couples who are happy in bed tend to be happy in the rest of their lives.”
