Forbes magazine has published a list of the top 10 world’s highest-paid models of 2017. After 15 years, Brazilian businesswoman Gisele Bündchen lost her crown to young model Kendall Jenner. Her continued presence on the runways and the power of her 85 million followers has secured her deals with major brands such as Estée Lauder, La Perla, and Adidas, all of which then allowed the young American to take the throne. #10 – ASHLEY GRAHAM
The 30-year-old American started her modeling career more than a decade ago and got a spot on the list for the first time with $5.5 million. Graham made millions with her own lines for Addition Elle, Dressbarn and Swimsuits For All as well as with ad campaigns for Lane Bryant and H&M.The American model continues to dazzle with her style, unique beauty and edgy taste in fashion.
#9 – BELLA HADID
With $6 million, the 21-year-old American star is the youngest model to join the list. Hadid had a busy year, modelling for more than a dozen brands, including the Dior makeup line, Nike and Nars cosmetics.
Gigi is also on the highest-paid list with $3.5 million more than her sister! Bella Hadid continues to rock the fashion world with her beauty and style.
#8 – LIU WEN
The 29-year-old Chinese model is in eighth position with $6.5 million. Liu Wen’s career has been full of groundbreaking moments as she was the first Asian to be the spokeswoman for the beauty an cosmetics giant Estée Lauder, as well as being the first Chinese model to be invited for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The Chinese model was also the first Asian to model for the famous fashion magazine, Vogue. Liu Wen also modeled for the luxury lingerie brand La Perla and the well-known sports brand Puma.
#7 – KARLIE KLOSS
At just 25 years old, the American model has been on the cover of Vogue magazine 36 times. She takes seventh position in the ranking with an incredible $9 million. She currently has million-dollar contracts with Adidas, Swarovski and Express. The model also hosts a YouTube channel called Klossy and will present a show for the TV channel Freeform.
#6 – ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY
The 30-year-old British model earned a place on the list with a total of $9.5 million. The sales of her own lingerie, makeup and perfume lines in the department store Marks & Spencer earned her millions of dollars.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also fronted Ugg, Nirav Modi, and Burberry perfume ad campaigns.
#5 – GIGI HADID
Also with $9.5 million, we have Bella Hadid’s sister, Gigi Hadid. Thanks to the nearly 37 million followers on Instagram, the 22-year-old earns large sums of money from the brands she endorses on social media. The model has her own Maybelline makeup line, a Vogue sunglasses line and a deal with Tommy Hilfiger. This is the first time that two sisters appear in Forbes’ list.
#4 – ADRIANA LIMA
The 36-year-old Brazilian top-model and actress made a $10.5 million profit.
Adriana Lima modeled for Sportmax and Marc Jacobs this year. The model also presented the reality show ‘American Beauty Star’ on the TV channel Lifetime. The various fashion shows, brand premieres and ad campaigns make the Brazilian one of the highest paid models in the list.
#3 – CHRISSY TEIGEN
The bronze medal goes to the American model Chrissy Teigen with $13.5 million profit. The model appears for the first time in the list.
With around 15 million followers on Instagram, the former cover of Sports Illustrated magazine earns millions with contracts that go beyond fashion, including Vita Coco and Smirnoff. She’s a cookbook author and host of the TV show ‘Lip Sync Battle’, and has also appeared in various commercials for brands such as Tresemmé and BECCA.
#2 – GISELE BÜNDCHEN
The Brazilian model and businesswoman hasn’t worked as a runway model since 2015, but her reign as highest-paid model lasted for 15 years. She still gets the silver, with $17.5 million. The 37-year-old model still earns millions from contracts with Carolina Herrera as well as advertising deals with Brazilian brands Arezzo and Vivara.
Gisele Bündchen had a 43% drop in sales compared to last year, when she made $30.5 million in profit.
#1 – KENDALL JENNER
The world’s highest-paid model of 2017 is 22-year-old American model Kendall Jenner, with a whopping $22 million!
Kendall Jenner has secured the top stop with the help of her 85 million followers on Instagram, which allowed her to get contracts with brands such as Estée Lauder, La Perla, and Adidas, among others.
In addition, Kendall stars on the family’s reality show, ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’, and has a clothing brand in partnership with her sister, Kylie Jenner, named Kendall + Kylie.
