Growing a bit of facial hair could dramatically improve your attractiveness because women are partial to a good beard.
New research revealed that 76% of ladies have fantasied about a rugged, bearded man and 53% prefer face fuzz to the clean-shaven look.
The study, by extra-marital dating site Gleeden, also quizzed 6,000 ladies about whether they had ever strayed for a guy with a five o’clock shadow.
It turns out a whopping 61% of women admitted to cheating on their current partner for a bearded gentleman.
But why do the fairer sex find those whiskers so attractive?
Some believe it makes a man seem more sexy and masculine (41%), others find it original and charming (29%) and a few find that a beard makes them feel more protected (17%).
It’s not just married ladies who find facial fuzz a big turn on.
Previous research, published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology, surveyed 8,520 ladies to find out how much hair guys should have – and what women really think about it.
Scientists discovered that guys with stubble were rated the most attractive for short-term relationships.
But guys with full bushy beards looked more like keepers and women thought they’d make better long-term lovers.
Evolutionary speaking, it’s thought that beards act as a sign of enhanced fertility and survival ability.
On top of ditching the bare-faced look, men should stop smirking if they want to pull a woman.
Weirdly enough ladies prefer men who don’t smile as much because keeping a straight face is seen as more of a turn on.
According to a study by the University of British Columbia, girls think lads who grin aren’t as dominant so maybe try channelling the brooding bad boy look after you’ve grown out that beard.
