Based on affordability, maternity laws, healthcare quality and happiness.
When it comes to family-friendly cities, safety, happiness and affordable housing are some the key factors for parents looking to settle down.
To establish which cities are the best for young families to both live in and visit, real estate portal Homebuy rated 100 cities around the world based on these factors, as well as 12 others including education, unemployment, pollution, transport, healthcare and green spaces. Around 30,000 parenting professionals were then polled for their ‘expert perception’ before every city was awarded a score to determine a final ranking.
Edinburgh was the highest ranked UK city, in 27th place, while London was listed 30th out of 100. As for the top spot, it went to Copenhagen, which was found to be one of the world’s safest and happiest urban places, with affordable housing and excellent maternity/paternity laws.
