SipCaddy Lets You Drink Wine in the Shower

The time has finally come. In an era when you can haul a wine-dispensing purse anywhere you have to go, where you can buy spiked acrylic glasses that stand up in the sand at the beach, the world has been long overdue for a convenient way to sip while you suds up.

But no more. One company has boldly gone where others haven’t dared, creating a wine holster that can cradle your Chardonnay (or rosé, or cab) while you lather up in the shower. It’s called a SipCaddy, and it’s essentially a plastic cup holder with a suction cup attached to it. The gadget has a specially designed holster that can hold stemware — so Champagne flutes work too, in case you want to recreate Margot Robbie’s bathtub breakdown of subprime mortgages in The Big Short — as well as cups, cans and shampoo bottles.

Of course, anyone who’s ever knocked over a bottle of conditioner or dropped the soap may naturally wonder: But how sturdy is that suction cup? Will it slip and smash to the floor five minutes into my bubble bath? Valid. According to the creators, it can withstand 7 pounds of pressure, but it doesn’t work with porous stone surfaces, like Travertine. They don’t recommend using glass stemware, either, just in case it slips.

Though the caddy’s become known for holding wine and shower beers, the company’s recent Instagram posts prove the only limit is your imagination: You could buy a few and use one to hold your drink, and the others to hold, say, a slice of pizza, chicken wings, even your fall seasonal decor (because why should a love of all things pumpkin be confined to your entryway and PSLs?!). Given Jessica Biel’s stance on eating in the shower, we think she’d be all about this.
