Everyone wants to put his or her best foot forward on a first date, so naturally, people tend to gloss over the truth or, in other words, make things sound better than they are. This is generally done in a harmless way, so let’s consider these as “white lies” for the most part rather than “all-out” lies. For women, here are some of the common things the ladies will gloss over or fib a bit about when on a date!A Heartbreak
A Heartbreak

She may still be torn up inside over a breakup or a past love, but she’ll gloss over it and act as if it doesn’t really bother her still. Most likely, she’s ready to date (or maybe not), but that heartbreak made quite a shatter in her.

Exercise and Activity

The trend is muscular but sexy, and let’s face it: women have a lot of pressure to look a certain way. So if she’s not as active as she “thinks” she should be, she may exaggerate to seem more fit and together.

Availability

A woman may make it seem as if she has had many dates even if she has not recently. Why? Well, women know the fun is in the chase and you appear more desirable when you’re a little bit out of reach. She may want to appear as desirable and not desperate.

Vacations

She might say she went on an amazing vacation, but perhaps it was a really small getaway. This is only because she’d like to sound interesting to you, all while leaving out small facts like that her girlfriend annoyed her on the trip there . . .

Absent Parent

Whether she has a parent who is absent from her or she’s raising a child who is missing out on a dad, she may be reluctant to share that information up front. Most likely, you won’t find this out for some time, so it’s not a lie but a slow reveal.

Mealtime

She may say she isn’t that hungry and you may wonder if she is “one of those girls who doesn’t eat,” but truth is, she’s either too nervous and lying to cover it or she ate before you went out so she wouldn’t go starving due to her nerves.

An Excuse

Sure, her friend “really” needs her help right now or her aunt is in the hospital . . . or she’s lying to cut the date short. While men may just say they have to go do something, women pull the guilt/sudden accident card out of their own self-guilt.

Her Confidence

“Yeah, I feel very self-assured and confident.” This is an innocent white lie. Would you want her to sit on the date and list all her imagined or real flaws? Nope!

Another Love Interest

I don’t mean a serious relationship or spouse, but if she’s talking to someone else, this isn’t going to come up during the first date. It will only come up down the line if she’s still seeing them and wants to see you, too.

Major Trauma

If she just completed a year of recovery, lost a parent or close friend, or lost her job, she’s going to avoid talking about it and may gloss over or avoid anything that might bring up those topics.
