The male and female orgasm are very different and while men often find it easier to orgasm, women are able to have more multiple orgasms.
Ladies are more likely to experience multiple orgasms because men have a longer refractory period.
A refractory period is the time where the man is physically unable to have an erection or orgasm and can last between a few moments and a few hours.
Only a small amount of men have a short refractory period and can have multiple orgasms that way.
But as it turns out, men can have multiple orgasms in other ways.
Stu Nugent, resident sex expert at LELO revealed that the trick to male multiple orgasms is tantric sex.
Stu explained: “Tantric sex is based on a protracted contact between the two partners, which does not necessarily imply sexual intercourse as we usually mean it.
“[It means] enough physical contact of the penis inside the vagina for long enough to trigger a sort of ‘chemical reaction’ between the bodies of the two partners and leads to a feeling of enjoyment that pervades the whole body, called the ‘Valley Orgasm’ to distinguish it from the climax orgasm we are accustomed to.”
There are four ways you can achieve a tantric orgasm: through attention, sound, breath and movement.
During regular sex, short, sharp breaths are considered to be a sign of passion and sexual desire.
But tantra promotes a deep breathing technique like in yoga or meditation.
By focussing on breathing, this is taking the focus away from the sexual excitement and can help a man stop right before ejaculation – and results in a dry orgasm.
Stu said: “The pleasurable spasms of orgasm will be tested, but the lack of ejaculation will make the penis stay erect so you can resume sex.”
