Unfaithful people will go to great lengths to hide their naughty affair, but now cheaters have opened up and shared the biggest lies they tell their lovers.
And you should keep a closer eye on your partner if they’re frequently working up a sweat.
According to a study by extra-marital dating site Gleeden, sport is one of the most common alibis used by unfaithful lovers.
In fact a whopping 10% of cheats have taken out a gym membership just so that can use working out as a cover story.
Keeping in shape is popular among both male and female cheats, as 49% of lads and 46% of ladies said they practised sports several times a week.
The survey revealed that guys prefer ball sports with 31% of men practising tennis, while 22% played golf and 16% were football fans.
But female love rats are more likely to do yoga (23%), practice pilates (16%) or take up running (14%).
Meanwhile the cheater’s site also revealed that ladies often pretend they’re off for a girl’s night out when they are actually sneaking off for sex.
Other popular lies included “I’m taking some me-time” either shopping or at the spa, or “I have a professional obligation”.
People are also prone to cheating at certain ages so watch out if your partner is nearing a new decade.
Research reveals that lads and ladies are most likely to cheat the year before a big milestone birthday – so at the age of 29, 39, 49 or 59.
A survey by extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com, which polled 1,000 people, found that there’s a certain age which is the “most dangerous of all”.
A massive 33% cheated at the age of 39, while the next most popular ages were 49 and 29.
Christian Grant, spokesman for IllicitEncounters.com, said: “Beware of the figure nine – it is the danger age as far as affairs are concerned.
“This is applicable to men and women.
“Both go looking for affairs when they are on the verge of entering a new decade.”
He continued: “Research shows that some people cheat to get their partner’s attention.
“If their partner’s a workaholic or unavailable to them, being caught with someone else is a way of saying: ‘Hey, if you love me, pay attention to me.’
“‘Payback cheating’ is also common.
“If you’ve cheated in the past or done something else to hurt your partner, they might retaliate to get even.”
