Feeling confident – whether it’s about your body, your sexual performance or even your sexual history – can make sex a more pleasurable experience for everyone involved.Though experience may seem like it would help make romping more enjoyable, there are also other factors that lead to pleasure – and they’re not always linked to the number of people you’ve slept with.

But 35% of ladies said more previous partners means better sex and 8% thought sleeping around makes you worse in the sack.nResearchers said: “People told us they had an idea – both a minimum and maximum – for the number of people they felt it was OK to have slept with.“A majority of men and women also told us that if asked to reveal their own sex history, they’d fib to make that number seem higher than it actually was.“Ultimately, we discovered more than a third of Europeans and half of Americans thought the more sexual partners someone had, the better the sex seemed to be.“Whatever your number is, you should feel confident and comfortable with your sex life.”

Meanwhile a previous study by Superdrug Online Doctor unveiled Brits’ average number of sexual partners. It’s a question most people like to dodge while dating, but women from the UK typically have seven sexual partners during their lifetime, while men average 6.4.But interestingly, lucky number seven was also the ideal number of past lovers.

Ladies said 7.5 was the perfect magic number, while lads thought you should have 7.6 notches on the bedpost.

A new study by Dr Ed quizzed 1,000 Europeans and Americans about their thoughts and only one in three said the more partners someone had, the better they were in bed.

Specifically 57% of European women admitted that your sexual past “makes no difference” on your current sexual performance.
