A father who refused to have a haircut has finally had his hair trimmed as part of a massive makeover.

Sean Woolley’s last haircut was more than two decades ago in 1991.But his colleagues at Derby City Council decided enough was enough and decided to do something about his “dishevelled” appearance.

They convinced him he needed a trip to the hairdressers and even a full makeover.

The 47-year-old had his hair trimmed and styled for free at Tony and Guy, in Derby, and bought a new suit from Primark with the help of workmate, Marissa Jefford, to complete his transformation.

He raised £145 for dementia charity, The Lewy Body Society, in the process. Mr Woolley, of Alvaston, said: “It all started out as a joke about my appearance but my colleagues eventually convinced me to go through with it for charity.“It took me a few days to get used to my new look, it was a real shock at first, but I really like it now.

“Everyone has told me I look a lot better and I managed to raise money for a good cause at the same time so I’m really pleased.”

Mrs Jefford told the Derby Telegraph : “He looks so much better and we were all completely blown away at how good he looks. He’s really happy with his appearance too which is great to see.”

He thanked Toni and Guy and his colleagues at Ashtree House in Derby for their support.
