These amazing satellite images show the terrifying size of Typhoon Noru currently raging over the Pacific Ocean.

With wind speeds reaching up to 165mph last weekend, Noru became the biggest and most powerful storm of 2017. At its peak it was the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane. The typhoon is currently travelling northwest across the ocean and, according to the Weather Channel , it’s progress could have dangerous consequences for residents of southern Japan.

Astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station shared images of the gigantic force of nature on Twitter.
