According to US Weekly, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West’s surrogate — “a San Diego mom in her late 20s” — is three months pregnant. This means the new Kardashian-West baby will arrive sometime in January of 2018.
Those who watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians have seen the reality star’s fertility struggles and quest for a second, then third child play out on their TV screens. During her pregnancy with now four-year-old North, Kardashian suffered from early onset preeclampsia and placenta accreta, both rare conditions. The former prevented Kardashian from carrying her eldest to term (she delivered at 34 weeks, almost six weeks early). The latter, which occurs when parts of the placenta grow too deeply into the uterine wall, makes detachment after birth extremely difficult. “My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand…It was the most painful experience of my life,” Kardashian shared on her personal site.
