The wedding is planned for September 30. Three days before his marriage Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian has won the FIDE World Cup 2017. And now after the triumphant victory the couple will tie the knot. Speaking to champord.am Aronian’s to-be-wife Arianne Caoili, Australian chess player, winner of FIDE title of Woman International Master said that the marriage is a new, important phase in their relationship.
“Marriage is a way to show the degree of mutual loyalty. I think each person has a right of choice, has a right to plan own life. For instance Levon planned and won all the championships. It was a decision, it was a goal. Marriage too is an important decision for us. Sometimes you cannot plan your life but when Levon and I met, we were calm for our future. We have decided to spend our 20s by reaching our goals, it is an age when a person is full of energy,” she said, adding that this is the reason why they decided to think about marriage a bit later.
“I do not say that marrying early is bad, I do not think so at all. It is just our choice, which I think is right. Marriage must be a union of two complete people. There should not be halves,” Arianne said, adding that after the marriage the couple is becoming fully devoted to each other.
The wedding will take place in Armenia’s capital Yerevan in accordance with local traditions. Arianne said there will be many interesting moments and surprises. “I also want to say that I am very thankful to Armenia for Levon and for the warm and friendly attitude toward me during the past 3 years,” she concluded.
