So you can drink your cold brew AND feel like you’re at the bar.
Starbucks is all about trying new things, which is why the world has been blessed with creations like the unicorn frappuccino AND color-changing cold brew. Their newest invention? Cold brew coffee with a hint of gin flavoring. Yep, gin flavoring.
Starbucks starts with Rwandan coffee beans, and they scoop them into oak barrels originally used for bourbon aging, and then for gin aging, so all the flavors come together to create one cocktail-esque drink.
“The beans absorb the botanical essence of the gin, bringing out its bright citrus notes with a sweet caramel finish. The resulting cup is rich, nuanced and unlike anything we’ve tasted before,” Starbucks manager of product development Jennifer Galbraith said.
Although the drink is technically nonalcoholic, it’s intended to be a twist on the classic G and T. It’s served with lime bitters, tonic, and garnished with a lime. Sounds like the perfect way to make it feel like happy hour alllll day long, if you ask me.
Unfortunately, the drink is only available at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle for a limited time, so buy your plane tickets and head west ASAP.
