Proudly posing on the frozen surface of Lake Baikal in Russia, 50-year-old Liu Yelin still preferred wearing a bikini even the temperature was nearly minus 40 degree Celsius.
The super youthful mother from China said her life goal is to travel around the world while donning beautiful bikinis – which she referred to as her ‘armour’ – no matter how frigid the weather would be.
In Siberia on March 1, the fitness fanatic displayed her envious body and tattooed abdomen despite the fact that ‘the icy strong winds felt like hundreds of knives to my skin’.
She also took up the challenges of swimming in Lake Baikal and diving under the icy surface of Lake Baikal, which is the world’s oldest and deepest lake.
Ms Liu, who has a 23-year-old son, said she likes doing extreme sports and taking up challenges in extreme weather, and it would be better if she could do it wearing a sexy swimsuit.
She said: ‘You know China is relatively conservative. Sometimes I got asked why I owe so many bikinis and wear bikinis so often, I would joke: “I am saving fabric for the country”.’
In reality, the age-defying TV personality likes bikinis because ‘they can show my body, there is nowhere you could hide anything’.
‘My bikinis are my armour. With them, I feel confident, healthy and youthful.’
Hailing from central China’s Henan Province, the ex-librarian made a trip to Listvyanka, a small town on the shores of Lake Baikal, after seeing a picture of people ice diving.
‘I saw it and thought it was really cool, so I arranged a trip for me and my family. I’m an extremely straightforward person,’ she said.
‘The weather forecast said the temperatures would be around minus 15 degree Celsius, but when I arrived there, it was definitely much colder, something like minus 40 or so.’
She said she is trying to do something that a lot of people want to do but couldn’t – to push their body to the limit.
And for her, having bikini shots taken in the white wild Siberia is a way to display her toned body in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
She explained: ‘I know Lake Baikal is very famous for the blue ice with air bubbles trapped inside, so I’ve chosen to come here.’
Ms Liu shot to fame last year after posting pictures of herself through her Weibo account on Chinese social media.
Web users were stunned by her glowing, wrinkle-free skin and her ripped torso.
The energetic woman said she felt she is still 15 and she is often mistaken for her son’s girlfriend.
Apparently, Mr Liu has worked out every winter outdoors for about 30 years, and that’s her secret of staying youthful.
She said her favourite thing to do is to swim in the lake near her house in winter.
‘It is true that it is painful to take off your clothes and dive into the water, but you would feel great for an entire day after you finish.
‘And more importantly, you would stay healthy for a life time.’
