There is lots of information floating around surrounding what is the best way to look after your skin.
Lazy people can rejoice in the fact that sleep could be the answer as Australian beauty company owners and and an education manager weigh in.

Slowing down the ageing process can be simple, as people may only need to make these three adjustments to their night time routine.

Here, FEMAIL takes a look at the easy changes you can make that could leave you with glowing, bright and ageless skin.

USE A SILK PILLOW CASE

Many beauty experts swear by silk pillowcases as it is believed the texture softens wrinkles and fine lines.
It’s been spoken about in the beauty world for quite a while now but the silk pillowcase movement has been building up even more steam as time has gone on.

It is thought that regular cotton cases cause friction between your skin and the pillowcase, resulting in sleep creases which turn into permanent wrinkles.
One such fan is Zoe Foster Blake, the owner of Go-To Skincare, who says that a silk pillowcase is one of ‘the smartest beauty products you can invest in’.

‘With a silk pillowcase, crease lines don’t exist. Since there is no friction, tugging or pulling with silk, your gorgeous face can glide effortlessly over the pillow all night,’ her website states.

‘Silk pillowcases also 1) keep your hair shiny and frizz-free and 2) won’t absorb your skin’s natural moisture (or that face cream you applied before bed) as you sleep.’

The Goodnight Co, a company that sells their own silk pillowcases, are also fans of silk pillowcases.
‘A silk pillowcase contains a natural protein and a number of amino acids, and recent studies of these proteins and amino acids indicate that these can make your facial lines and wrinkles appear smoother and less noticeable, as it relaxes the nervous system,’ they said.

WEAR AN OVERNIGHT CREAM
One of the easiest and most fuss-free ways to look after your skin is by applying a night cream that will do all the work for you as you sleep.

After battling impurities all day our largest organ needs time to rest and repair, which night cream helps facilitate.

Creams are designed to boost the skin with moisture while also targeting specific skin concerns, like fine lines.

The best part is that all you have to do is apply the cream to your face and let it do the work while you tuck yourself in.

GO TO BED BEFORE 11PM

Most people know how important it is to make sure you get eight hours of slumber but not everyone knows that what time you go to sleep has an effect on your skin.

According to Emma Hobson, education manager for the International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica, we should all be hitting the hay before 11pm.

‘The skin repairs and renews itself during the evening and in particular the peak time for rejuvenation is 11pm at night,’ she told Body+Soul.

‘Night-time offers us a greater opportunity to nourish, regenerate and hydrate skin and reinforce the protective barrier layer without inhibiting, but rather working with the skin’s natural reparative processes.’
Ideally people should be going to bed as early as possible so that they give their skin enough time to renew itself.

Those zzs really do pay off.
