Friends fans, don’t give up hope on a reunion quite yet.
Never mind that recent reunion movie trailer going around Twitter was a total fake. Never mind that Matthew Perry has admitted that the mere idea of a Friends reunion gives him actual nightmares.
And, never mind that Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman has previously said that there’s ‘no way’ she could ever be talked into revisiting the show. Suddenly, against all the odds, there’s hope.
That hope comes from Jennifer Aniston — who told good friend Ellen DeGeneres this week that, under the right circumstances, she could be talked into getting the Rachel cut again.
Asked if a Friends reunion is ‘even in the realm of possibility’ by Ellen, Aniston answered: ‘Anything is a possibility, Ellen. Anything! I mean, George Clooney got married!
‘That’s like, anything can happen! I think it’s wonderful.’
Jen’s answer might only leave the door slightly ajar for a Friends revival, but we’re holding onto hope! In the meantime, our real lives might soon be a bit more Friends-like because Warner Bros is considering opening actual Central Perk coffee shops!
No word yet on if each Central Perk shop comes with a manager forced to dress up like Gunther, but we live to dream.
Jen is currently quite busy plotting her return to TV 14 years on from the end of Friends. Soon, she’ll begin filming Apple’s first-ever scripted drama series alongside Reese Witherspoon.
Apple has picked up the currently-untitled satire of US breakfast television for two seasons, and will spend a jaw-dropping $240 million bringing it from page to screen. Let’s hope people actually like it!
