IF you scroll through Instagram and wonder how social media stars look so flawless, then listen up, because we have the secrets (and no, it doesn’t involve a week long Boot Camp, phew).
Australian bikini designer Karina Kirby, 27, reveals her way of looking great in photos, and, by the looks of her recent snaps, we will definitely be taking notes.
Taking to her Instagram captions, the Moana Bikini CEO explained how lighting plays a huge part in how your body looks in photos.
She explains: “Remember, lighting plays a HUGE part in how images come out.
“Direct light on the body hides cellulite and lady lumps where as when the light is above you it highlights…. welll…. everything”
“Everything”, you say, Karina? Including every turkey sandwich we ate last month? You have our attention…
The designer also posted a side by side comparison of untouched and airbrushed photos to explain what really goes on behind the scenes of so-called ‘perfect’ Instagrams.
In a post celebrating why we shouldn’t feel the need to Photoshop her own images, she explains just how much work goes into those seemingly flawless pictures: “I had some spare time and decided to retouch my bikini photo and copy the “look” I see flooding your Instagram feed.”
This is what Karina says she did…
– Removed my eczema scars
– Removed cellulite
– Dramatically skin smoothed my body
– Sucked in my waist
– Redesigned and sculpted my booty
– Pushed my booty up
– Thinned out my thighs, arms and neck
– Made my hair bigger
– Pushed my jaw line up
– Added a glowing filter, twice
– Narrowed my shoulders
If you’re still feeling self conscious of your bikini pictures, then Karina insists that you shouldn’t worry.
The Moana CEO finished her caption with “Unique is better. Unique is power. Lumps, bumps and all”.
Now that’s something we can get behind.
