Here are five healthy breakfast options that could help you lose fat and build muscle:
1. Vegetables
You might not think of vegetables as being a breakfast food but tucking into some healthy greens before 9am will make you feel like a health god, and keep you feeling fuller longer.
Try adding spinach and peppers to na omelette or opt for a posher plate of salmon, eggs and aparagus.
2. Eggs
Eggs are a good source of protein and great for people trying to build lean muscle. The little powerhouses are also packed with 11 different vitamins and minerals, omega-3 fats and antioxidants.
3. Porridge
Porridge is a great morning meal because oats are among the healthiest grains on earth.
They’re a gluten-free whole grain and a good source of important vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants.

Whole fruit is far better for you than fruit juices. This is because fruit contains antioxidants and fibre.
Antioxidants will brighten your skin, whilst fibre takes a long time to digest and helps you to feel full for longer.
However, fruit also contains a sugar called fructose so it’s important to limit your portions.
5. Protein pancakes
Jamie Lloyd, PT and fitness writer who works with MuscleFood.com, said: “With the right mix, pancakes can provide your body with ridiculous amounts of protein, amino acids and healthy carbs which help you fuel and refuel your workouts.
“If you use raw healthy ingredients most pancakes contain very little fat, around 35g of protein and 20g of carbs. They taste great too.”
