This has been a big year for our favorite redheaded royal. He got engaged, for starters, making him the future Mr. Meghan Markle. (As a matter of fact, his engagement shook up the British monarchy!) And now, he also has a new job.

Queen Elizabeth has approved Prince Harry’s appointment as the new Captain General Royal Marines, Buckingham Palace recently announced. Surprised that the royal family actually works? Learn what each member does for a living.

Prince Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, has held this position since 1953. But following Prince Philip’s retirement from royal duties in August, Harry has been tapped to take over for his grandfather, People reported.

Harry probably didn’t need to hand in a resume and cover letter to land the job. But his qualifications speak for themselves. Not only did he reach the rank of Captain during his ten years in the army and two tours in Afghanistan, but His Royal Highness also “continues to work in support of his fellow servicemen, promoting support for wounded men and women as they adapt to life post-injury,” the Royal Family’s Twitter said. Bravo, Harry!

While it’s unclear what kind of responsibilities the position will require, Prince Philip often paid visits to the Marines on exercise in Norway and at their headquarters in Plymouth, according to the Forces Network. So we can probably assume his grandson will perform similar duties. (At least he won’t be sitting on the throne. In fact, he recently admitted no one wants to be king or queen.)

Between planning his wedding and serving as the new Captain General, something tells us the royal will have his hands full in 2018. But if you think you know everything about Prince Harry, you might want to think again; Harry isn’t even his real name.
