It’s a day that has gone down in history, the day that Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan (and who’s that other one?) Nicky Byrne, broke all our hearts and announced that Westlife were officially breaking up, (after a farewell tour and Greatest Hits album obviously).
But after 6 long hard years, we finally have a reason to smile again and surprisingly enough, that reason comes from Louis Walsh of all people.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, manager Louis confirmed that our favourite Irish lads (sorry Ronan and co), are reforming.
‘There is a huge demand for it to happen and I’m talking to all the boys. They are going to decide when it takes place.’
But it turns out one person who won’t be making a return is boyband absconder, Brian McFadden, who left the band in 2004.
‘Brian won’t be involved, it will be the Fab Four. Totally. The four of them just see themselves as Westlife.’
And if Brian was considering writing a grovelling apology to Louis, it sounds like it’s already too late.
‘I prefer a happy band and four happy people. They all know each other, they all respect each other. Three of them live in the same town in Sligo, so it makes more sense.’
